Administration:
With vacation time coming up we would like to remind you that we offer Pre Authorized Debit for both Monthly rent and Resident Trust top up. You can have the convenience of knowing everything is taken care of automatically and we’ll still send you an itemized bill monthly for your records. If you are interested, please stop by or call the front office and we will help you get set up.
We are pleased to announce that Anna Prendergast has been hired as the new Director of Dietary Services. She comes to Kensington with a lot of experience and fresh new ideas to continually improve our dietary services to our residents. Cheryl Speers will continue to work with the retirement residents!
It has come to the attention of staff that Long-Term Care Residents have been frequenting sections of the atrium/cafe reserved for retirement tenants. We would ask family members and Long-Term Care Residents to use those areas set aside for them in our ongoing efforts in maintaining a safe community at Kensington Village. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEPARTMENT
Happy summer!!! Well our gardener has been busy planting and weeding around our facility! The facility is looking awesome with all of the colourful flower arrangements and planters. I hope you all are enjoying them as you walk around our Kensington path!
I have put out another bird feeder in the Highbury courtyard as per request at our town hall meeting. I hope you are enjoying the nice selection of birds that you are getting. I see the cardinals and house finches along with the Morning Doves!
In the main courtyard by the solarium we are going to be planting some hostas under the 3rd ave wing. This will make for a pleasant view along the left side of the courtyard. Hostas come in many varieties; we are planting large ones that will grow 2 feet wide!
The courtyards have canopies and or gazebos for you all to enjoy cover when the sun is too hot and also when it’s raining lightly! Please take advantage of our lovely courtyards. BBQ’s are available for your family to bring in a picnic lunch or supper to enjoy with you too!
A reminder to you all, that when having food in your room that it be kept in containers. This will help to keep our pesky pests at bay.
Also, to ensure proper turnaround time with your maintenance/housekeeping requests please make sure that you inform a staff member so they can log it in our maintenance binder and or contact myself if it needs immediate attention.
Enjoy the summer months!
Thank you,
Glenna Grimmer
